Eligibility Criteria and Required Documents

  • Acceptance letter from a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada.

  • Demonstrate sufficient financial resources to cover tuition fees, living expenses, and return transportation.

  • Evidence of intention to leave Canada at the end of the authorized stay.

 

  • A valid passport.

  • Proof of language proficiency.

  • Academic transcripts.

  • Any other documents requested by your country visa office.

Post Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)

Eligibility Criteria

 

  • To be eligible for a PGWP, you must have completed a full-time program of study at a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada.

  • The program must have been at least eight months in duration and led to a diploma, degree, or certificate.

  • Programs such as English or French as a Second Language courses or programs delivered via distance learning, may not be eligible for PGWP.

  • You must have maintained full-time student status and have a valid study permit when applying for the PGW

​How to Apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit

 

To apply for a PGWP, you must apply to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) within 180 days of completing your program. The application process involves completing the appropriate forms, paying the required fees, and providing supporting documents, such as your graduation certificate, transcript, and a letter of completion from your Designated Learning Institution (DLI).
