Visitor Visa allows you to visit Canada temporarily, typically for up to six months. During your stay, you must abide by the conditions of your visa, which may include refraining from working or studying without the appropriate authorization.

Visa-Exempt Countries:

Canada has visa-exempt agreements with many countries, which means that citizens of these countries can visit Canada without a visa. If you hold a passport from a visa-exempt country, you can travel to Canada with an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) if you are flying to Canada or with your passport if you are entering by land or sea. The eTA is an electronic document that
is linked to your passport and is valid for multiple visits over a period of five years.

Extending a Visitor Visa
If you are already in Canada on a Visitor Visa and wish to extend your stay, you may be able to apply for an extension. It is important to apply for an extension before your current visa expires to maintain your legal status in Canada. You will need to apply to extend your stay as a visitor online or on paper, depending on your eligibility. When applying for an extension, you will need to demonstrate the reasons for your continued stay, such as further tourism, family visits, or business activities. The application process will require you to provide updated documentation and pay the applicable fees.

Visitor Stream

Visitor Visa

Most people need a visa or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to travel to Canada - not both. Some people may only need their valid passport.

Business Visitor

Unless they are visa-exempt, all visitors to Canada require a visitor visa to enter the country, regardless of the type of activities they will pursue once in Canada. Business visitors must therefore apply for a temporary resident visa (TRV) to come to Canada.

Super Visa

Super Visa is a special type of visa for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents who want to visit their family in Canada for an extended period.

Electronic Travel Authorization

Canada has visa-exempt agreements with many countries, which means that citizens of these countries can visit Canada without a visa. If you hold a passport from a visa-exempt country, you can travel to Canada with an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) if you are flying to Canada or with your passport if you are entering by land or sea.

Temporary Residence Permit

A Temporary Resident Permit (TRP) is a document issued by the Canadian government that allows a person who is otherwise inadmissible to enter or remain in Canada for a specific purpose and duration.
